Doug Hoffer

Doug Hoffer has served as Vermont's State Auditor since January 10, 2013, having first won election in 2012 as the joint nominee of the Democratic and Progressive parties. Before entering elected office, he worked for nearly two decades as a self-employed policy analyst, with clients including the Vermont State Auditor's office, the Vermont State Treasurer, and the Public Assets Institute. He holds a B.A. in political science from Williams College and a J.D. magna cum laude from the University at Buffalo Law School, having entered college at age 30 after leaving high school in his junior year.
