Alice M. Emmons, born February 14, 1955, in Springfield, Vermont, has served in the Vermont House of Representatives since first being elected in 1982, making her the Dean of the House — its longest-tenured member — a distinction she has held since 2011. She has chaired the House Corrections and Institutions Committee since 2005 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Hampshire. Outside of her legislative work, she owns and operates Lamps & Shades by Alice and has served on Springfield's Board of Civil Authority.
