Carol Ode is a Democrat representing the Chittenden-18 district in the Vermont House of Representatives, currently serving her third term after first being elected in 2016. A Cornell Law School graduate and former Vermont schoolteacher, she serves on the House Ways and Means Committee and the Legislative Committee on Administrative Rules, and is a Legislative Trustee on the University of Vermont's Board of Trustees. Earlier in her legislative career, she served two terms on the House Natural Resources, Fish and Wildlife Committee. Governor Howard Dean appointed her to the Vermont State Board of Education, where she also served as chair, and she previously chaired the Burlington School Board for seven consecutive years.
