William "Bill" Canfield is a Republican state representative from Fair Haven serving the Rutland-10 district, first elected in 2005. A self-employed barber and stylist, he is a graduate of Fair Haven Union High School and served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the House Committee on Ways and Means and has served on that committee since 2015, previously serving on the House Natural Resources and Energy Committee from 2005 to 2014. Canfield has served as a Justice of the Peace for 22 years and is a longtime member of the American Legion Post 49, Knights of Columbus, and other civic organizations.
