Brian Smith

Brian Smith is a Derby, Vermont native who graduated from North Country Union High School in 1969 and previously served as a Representative in the Vermont State House of Representatives for District Orleans-1 from 2017 to 2025, where he was a member of the General, Housing and Military Affairs Committee. He has also served in various roles on the Derby Selectboard, including as Vice Chair and Chair. Outside of his civic roles, Smith works at Key Auto Sales in Newport and serves on the Board of Directors for Northeast Kingdom Learning Services (NEKLS), the North Country Union High School Auto Tech Advisory Board, and the Vermont Governor's Council on Snowmobiling, and is a United States Navy veteran.
