About
Chunka Mui has served on the Shelburne Selectboard since 2024, with a term expiring in April 2027, and previously volunteered on the town's diversity and equity committee. Professionally, he works as a futurist and innovation advisor and is the author of five books on strategy and innovation, including *A Brief History of a Perfect Future*, and has written for Forbes, Harvard Business Review, and MIT Technology Review; he holds a degree in computer science and public policy from MIT. Mui has weighed in publicly on a proposed O'Brien Brothers development on a 190-acre parcel, arguing that the potential density allowed under Vermont Act 47 would be "too shocking" for land outside the town's designated growth area and framing the Selectboard's decision as a choice between litigation and compromise on a sewer petition. A Shelburne resident since 2013, he is also a supporter of Shelburne Farms and local youth chess programs.
