About
Lewis Mudge has served on the Charlotte Selectboard since 2021, filling a three-year seat that he held until stepping down. Before entering local government, Mudge worked as the Director for Central Africa at Human Rights Watch, and his family relocated to Charlotte from Kenya in 2018. Following the defeat of two land use ballot articles at Town Meeting Day, Mudge called for community reflection on the vote, noting it revealed a meaningful divide between East and West Charlotte residents, and expressed support for a community center as a potential way to bridge that rift.
