Tim Barritt has served on the South Burlington City Council since first winning election in 2016, was reelected in 2019, and currently holds the Chair position with a three-year term ending in 2028. Before joining the Council, he served six years on the Library Board of Trustees and four and a half years on the Development Review Board, where he served as chair. He works as an IT engineer in Computer Integrated Manufacturing at GlobalFoundries and previously spent over two decades at IBM, with a mid-1980s break to serve as a Peace Corps volunteer in Liberia, where he taught at a secondary school. On the Council, he has served on the Pension Advisory Committee and a Transferable Development Rights subcommittee, and acts as clerk of the council.
