Martine Larocque Gulick

Martine Larocque Gulick is a Democratic State Senator serving her second term representing the Chittenden-Central District, which includes Burlington, Winooski, Essex Junction, Essex Town, and a portion of Colchester. She serves as Vice Chair of the Senate Health and Welfare Committee and also sits on the Senate Finance Committee. During her first term, she proposed education funding cost containment measures and was lead sponsor on bills addressing literacy, library public safety, anti-discrimination compliance, and book banning prevention; in her second term, she has focused on healthcare affordability, sponsoring legislation to authorize birth centers, extend Medicaid coverage for community-based doulas, and adjust certificate-of-need thresholds.
