Virginia "Ginny" Lyons

Virginia "Ginny" Lyons of Williston is a Democrat serving in the Vermont Senate representing the Chittenden-Southeast District. She holds a Doctorate from the University of Vermont and taught at Trinity College for 27 years, bringing over 30 years of experience in Environmental and Biological Sciences to her legislative work. During her Senate tenure from 2000 to 2014, she served on committees including Natural Resources and Energy, which she chaired from 2002 to 2012, as well as Senate Health and Welfare and Finance. In the community, she has served as Chair of Williston's Select Board and held roles with organizations including the Friends of the Winooski River Board and the UVM Medical Center Children's Hospital Advisory Council.
