Sarah Copeland Hanzas

Sarah Copeland Hanzas serves as Vermont's 39th Secretary of State, having been elected in November 2022 following an 18-year career in the Vermont House of Representatives where she held roles including Majority Leader, Co-Chair of the Climate Solutions Caucus, and Chair of the House Government Operations Committee. In her current role, she has prioritized civic education and engagement, overseen expansion of the Education and Civic Engagement program, and modernized the Safe at Home address confidentiality program. She currently serves as Co-Chair of the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) International Relations Committee and lives in Bradford with her husband, John.
