Vermont allows same-day voter registration — you can register right at your polling place on Election Day. You can also register online, by mail, or in person at your town clerk's office anytime before polls close on Election Day.

What to Bring to Register

Vermont uses a simplified registration system. You'll need to provide your name, address, date of birth, and one of the following to verify identity:

1Vermont driver's license or DMV ID number
2Last 4 digits of your Social Security number
3If you don't have either: a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, or government document showing your name and address

Town Meeting Day Registration

Vermont Town Meeting Day is the first Tuesday in March. You can register to vote right at your town meeting. Bring proof of identity and Vermont residency.
