John L. Bartholomew, a Democrat representing the Windsor-1 district, has served in the Vermont House of Representatives since 2011. A retired veterinarian and retired Captain (O-6) in the U.S. Public Health Service, he previously served as chief of the Research Animal Management Branch at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the House Committee on Agriculture, Food Resiliency, and Forestry, sits on the House Rules Committee, and holds a seat on the University of Vermont Board of Trustees.
