Joseph "Joe" Major

Senator Joe Major, a Democrat representing the Windsor District, has served in the Vermont Senate since 2025 and currently sits on the Senate Committee on Agriculture as Vice Chair and the Senate Committee on Institutions. A native of Buffalo, New York, he graduated from Howard University and served as a U.S. Army officer before becoming Executive Director of the Upper Valley Aquatic Center in White River Junction. Prior to his Senate role, Major served as treasurer of the town of Hartford and as vice chair of the Hartford Selectboard.
