About Weybridge

Chartered in 1761, Weybridge is a small Addison County town immediately north of Middlebury. The town's landscape is defined by the flat, fertile farmland of the Otter Creek valley and the gently rolling hills to the west. Morgan Horse Farm, operated by the University of Vermont since 1878, is located in Weybridge and has been the breeding center for one of America's most important horse breeds — the Morgan, Vermont's state animal.

With a population of about 808, Weybridge is a quiet community where agriculture remains visible in the daily landscape. The town's proximity to Middlebury and Middlebury College gives residents access to cultural and commercial resources while maintaining a distinctly rural feel. Town meeting each March is where Weybridge's residents gather to set budgets and govern their community — a straightforward exercise in direct democracy in one of Addison County's smaller towns.
